Yes, I can now possibly add aliens to my list of paranormal experiences. I was abducted last night! But let's look at how it all happened and we'll decide from there whether we're to believe it or not - myself included. Before the AbductionSo how did this happen? Well, I had spent a couple hours before going to bed in a strong paranormal mood. The last 2 days have been spent immersed in books and websites like I haven't been in months. I was looking into purchasing melatonin in hopes of increasing my dream clarity and so had lucid dreams and OBE's on my mind before bed. I tried getting out of body but ended up in a semi-lucid dream instead. It was just the usual bunch of jumbled garbage you sometimes dream about as your mind drifts off so I can't tell you what it was now but I knew I was drifting to sleep. I caught myself at the right moment and felt the sudden rush of vibrations signalling the beginning of an OBE. It was at this moment that something popped into my mind.Spawned by Cartman's Anal Probe?
Aliens! I don't know why but it popped in there. It probably had something to do with reading a bunch of alien abduction stories of late. It could just as well have been from watching the first episode of South Park 2 hours earlier which was about aliens implanting a space probe up Cartman's butt. I think it was the latter which made me think of them. Anyway, as soon as the thought popped into my head I felt myself being sucked into a white mist. A second later I was sitting inside... you guessed it - a spaceship!Misty FiguresThe white mist which accompanied me there was still present but slowly dissipating, although, it stayed for the rest of the experience. This effect created a hazy atmosphere such as you'd see in a flashback during a cheap sitcom. Through the mist I observed a small, white room with 3 or 4 aliens looking at me. They were typical "greys" - the ones with thin green bodies with large black eyes on overgrown heads. They were close enough that I could only see them from the waist up through the mist. They stared at me for a moment and I wasn't sure if I had startled them with a surprise visit or if they had purposely drawn me there for some reason.Scraping My EyeballsI was not scared at this point, having been through many strange situations in my astral projections. I sort of sat there while they began poking me and stuff. The whole recollection is rather hazy and I can't recall everything but I remember enough to know what was going on. They were studying me. This lasted for a couple minutes. I remember them sticking needles into my body and I'm not even sure where now but I do remember one of them going into the right side of my stomach. It was when they started to focus on my eyes that I started to feel very uncomfortable. I was saying, "No! Not my eyes!" They just kept coming closer. I saw some sort of instrument reaching out to my left eyeball and around the same time I felt another needle go in next to my right eye. I believe this was some sort of anasthesia because they began to scrape my eye and I felt very little of it. I could no longer see but felt the rubbing of the eyes for another 10 seconds or so.Back to RealityThen I woke to the sound of the baby crying. It was morning. I completely forgot about the incident for the first 1/2 hour and it slowly came back in pieces later. What I've written is all I can remember of it but I know there wasn't much more to elaborate on. Now let's look at this a little deeper - not much, just a little bit. With all my paranormal experiences and book knowledge on the mysteries I haven't witnessed personally, I've always been overly skeptical when it comes to alien abduction stories. I do believe they happen and I do believe in aliens but I also believe that many - if not most - accounts of alien abductions can be attributed to what I experienced myself last night. I think it was nothing more than a lucid dream but since I'm so familiar with them I realize when I'm having one. There's always the chance that I really was having an OBE and somehow came across them but I highly doubt that answer - the main reason being I wouldn't have been carrying a physical body for the aliens to work on. I'm also pretty experienced for distinguishing between a lucid dream and an OBE and being able to feel injections is the biggest indicator of dreaming since you rarely feel physical sensations in a true astral projection. I can also state that I didn't even believe it possible to happen to someone as lucky as me in the first place! Are Lucid Dreams the Answer? This was nothing more than a lucid dream and I knew at the time that I was having one but was enjoying the thrilling new experience of contact with an alien species - even if it was only a dream. However, had I been someone outside of the paranormal community and experienced something along these lines it would be easy to think it were real. Not knowing about (or believing in) astral projections and lucid dreaming would possibly cause someone of this type to truly think they were abducted by aliens. A slight imbalance in mental stability could increase the believability of the occurence. This person would then become afraid to sleep at night in fear of another abduction. Focusing on the aliens as the person went to sleep could easily trigger another lucid dream involving yet another abduction. This person would then begin to think he/she were in constant observation by alien beings. This person - and many others - then starts publishing their accounts on the net and writing books on the subject and all they have as proof are the memories of these lucid dreams. I really think a great majority of alien abduction cases are similiar to the scenario I've just stated. An Unbeliever!!Now don't go calling me a non-believer. There are other inexplicable cases which lend more creditability to the stories. Such examples are strange marks left on the body such as burns and needle marks but even these can be faked by an unstable person trying to gain attention for themselves. When reports of U.F.O.'s are recorded in the area by independant witnesses it proves to be a much stronger argument. I know I sound like the everyday psychiatrist blaming chemical imbalances as the cause for hallucinations but I'm not referring to all alien abduction cases. I believe in too many other paranormal phenomena to discount all cases of extra-terrestrial encounters. My lucid dreaming experience just strengthens my view on what seems like an easy area for people to get carried away in. I need more proof to accept a belief in such cases.Look Out Alien Ladies! On the other hand, what happened to me last night really could have been an authentic astral projection. The "greys," who probably have heightened psychic abilities due to their apparent communication through telepathy, might have been able to treat my astral body as physical in which they were able to conduct the tests. I might have unknowingly opened the door of communication with them. I may just end up a regular visitor on their mother-ship where they'll pry and poke and take samples to make half-alien baby Pino's with. Let's hope I'm right on it being just a lucid dream. Then again, I'd have something interesting to write about on my site...
