Ok, I guess it's time I put something about myself in here. I'll try to keep it short, but you know how that usually goes... Anyway, I was born in 1975 and I grew up reading all the paranormal stuff I could get my hands on. I was that quiet little wierd kid, but not because of the paranormal stuff - I'm still known as the quiet one unless I'm out with the boys and have a few drinks in me.
I'm Gemini, which means I like to try to write and I have 2-sides which applies to many things. Quiet yet loud; super nice yet an angry side; good yet bad; normal Doug yet paranormal Doug. Only my very best of friends know this side of me. I don't usually talk about this stuff with people so this website is kind of a way of talking about it. I'm the only person I know so into the unexplained that there's usually nobody to talk about it with. Most people that know me well have no idea I can even build a website let alone tell stories of "unbelievable" things such as ghosts and Bigfoot. It's that hidden part of me that I suppose needs to come out somewhere.
As a kid, I used to stay up late at night and watch horror movies on the little black and white TV I had in my bedroom - not always with my parents knowing. I suffered through sleep paralysis pretty much my entire childhood and never really figured out what it was until I was about 24. That's when the obe's started happening - willfully.
I've dabbled in a little bit of everything when it comes to the unexplained. Whether it's through a book or with hands-on experience I keep an open mind. I'm very down to earth, level-headed and will try anything once. A lot of the time there's no success, but there are quite a few which have worked well. I've had quite a lot of practice with Ouija Boards in my teenage years but I no longer use them because I no longer feel comfortable with them.
I lived with my father starting when I was 17 and eventually rented the whole house off of him for my oldest son and myself (I have full custody). The house was haunted from the beginning. I will/do deal with those times in other sections so I won't get into that here, but I have had a lot of experience with ghosts - good and bad. I've had other people over who have heard and seen things there as well so I'm not the only one. There have even been people with hair pulled or their bodies pinched, but I never had any physical contact - and those people were either doing something wrong or the spirits didn't like them.
Other quick things, I've seen levitation, talked through mediums, spoke with and seen spirits while both awake and asleep, visited The Astral World on quite a few occasions and have times of strong psychic abilities (never regular).
I've never seen a UFO that I know of - unless those 7 balls of light doing a zigzag in the sky weren't really meteors. I've never seen Bigfoot and I've never been to Atlantis.
I read as much as I can which is usually at least a book a week. I can play just about any musical instrument on the planet with practice and have played in a few bands. I'm currently playing drums in a rockish/punk style band. I've had my share of drugs as a teenager but never had any shamanistic experiences. I barely even drink anymore, but now that I've just wrote that I think I'll go grab one before I finish.
Alright, that feels better - first drink in a week. I'll also add here that I've been trying to quit smoking for years - it might happen one day! I started when I was 12 so I'm a little used to it and even a little more addicted.
Ok, trying to keep this short. I'm a divorced father of 2 boys - currently 11 and 2 at this update. I've had custody of the oldest since he was 2. I had to put my dog to sleep so I'm stuck with 2 cats until I get another dog. No offense to the cat-people out there, but I'm a dog-lover. I'm also an animal lover so it's a little hard for me to say, "No, son! We're going to leave that poor kitten outside to starve, get hit by a car or be tortured by the 'crazy cat lady' down the road." Apparently she just looks after the strays but you know how neighbourhood kids turn the stories around.
I slave away in factory jobs - mouldmaking, tool & die, fixture building & even a couple years in mould design. I recently opened my own computer business for repairs and web design. That means I've been pretty busy lately and may not always have time to reply to questions and it may sit in the inbox for a month before I finally get to it. This site isn't much of a glitzy page to look at but I'm more interested in the articles and having some good content to keep people like you occupied for a little while - and hopefully a little entertained.
That's a long enough "me, me, me" page, I'd say. If I can think of anything significant to write I'll update this. Hope you enjoy the site and please contact me if you have any suggestions or questions. I really don't want to hear the bad stuff - we've all got feelings and our own opinions, but constructive criticism or error correction is always fine.
