Astral travels are something that very few people can regularly do knowingly, yet almost everyone will have at least 1 in their lifetime. Anyone can do them, yet few people believe in even the concept of it. Astral travelling is the art of leaving the body in a state of semi-unconciousness and venturing into the higher planes of existence. It is the same as an out of body experience and is better known as astral projection.Endless possibilitiesIn the astral body, anything is possible. You can visit old friends and family who have passed on. You can visit friends and family who are still alive. You can visit places as close as next door to somewhere as far as the other side of the universe. You can time travel to the distant past or even the future.Aside from all the places, people and times you can visit, you can also learn your future, better yourself, solve problems, learn new ideas, build psychic awareness, etc. etc. etc. The list is endless. Your first astral travel - a new beginningThe first time you have an obe (out-of-body-experience), you will feel like a new person. Just knowing there's something out there other than the physical is enough to open our minds to such endless possibilities. You begin to wonder about life and death - eventually realising not to fear death any longer. As Robert Monroe, one of the pioneers of obe research puts it - the "unknowns" become the "knowns". When you live your life not knowing what happens when you die, you live in fear of it and try not to think of it.I should move off the death subject for now. This was something that I first thought of and have been told by many others that they felt the same thing. You no longer fear it, it just kind of sticks around in your thoughts - you know it will happen one day but you've got the upper hand on everyone else because you know exactly where you're going. Learning to walkAs you begin your astral travels, you may have to learn a new method of moving your body. The easiest way to explain is that your mind takes the place of your muscles. You'll notice yourself walking sometimes, others you'll just be kind of floating along the ground. It's wierd but somehow feels natural. You'll be able to fly (again by thought), although at first this could cause you to wake up. I explain that a little more in lucid dreaming. When you want to visit another place or person, all you have to do is think about that place/person and you'll find yourself there instantly. One thing I have trouble with for some reason (other than getting out of my body at times) is going through walls, doors and windows. Normally you should be able to just pass through them without problems, but it's built into our minds that we shouldn't be able to pass through solid objects. When I find myself not being able to pass through something, I take a running start and fly through it, but the thrill of flying AND going through a wall makes me wake up quite often. You'll find little things like this you'll have to work through. With practice it gets easier. Astral travelling never gets tiresomeAstral travels are an exciting adventure you can take for free every night if you want to and can do it. I've had many GOOD trips and still can not get tired of them. There will always be something new to do, somewhere new to see, someone new to talk to and something new to learn.I wish you the best of luck with your astral travels. It may take long for some people to get their first astral projection, but it's totally worth it.
