20 questions much?
Another thing is that I when I sleep, I sometimes wake-up and feel like I am in a warm, comforting cacoon that is mildly vibrating. Everything tingles. I (obviously) freak-out and try to get my husband's attention but cannot speak. I know I am awake, but I am dead all at once.
So, how do you not freak-out, basically?

Ok, for starters, when everything is tingling and you can't speak you are actually in a state of sleep paralysis. I've learned to love that feeling after 20 years of getting it all the time and not knowing what it is. Next time it happens, imagine yourself floating up to the ceiling and if you're lucky you'll separate from the physical. You can't speak or move because you're concious mind is really in the astral body and not the physical. The laws of speech and movement are completely different in the astral plane. If you think I'm crazy just try it and see and you'll be surprised.
The other things all sound like a good form of meditation. You're lucky if you can get so deep into it. I have trouble meditating and wish I could do it better. I have the "I'm watching a movie" feeling all the time but again - not as deep. I've never read into anything on this but I think it would have something to do with a different perception of the world than the norm - or something like that. I wouldn't take drugs for this kind of thing. It could be some form of psychic powers wanting to display themselves whether or not you're ready. Next time you get that feeling try grabbing a deck of cards and guessing which card is on top of the pile. I love that game. I used to sit with a buddy and we'd have a couple beers and do that game for hours. I was playing cards with my wife and my grandmother last night and I kept guessing what they were going to lay down to the point my wife was giving me shit for cheating. I had to explain last night when we went to bed that I was actually guessing but I think I finally convinced her I wasn't cheating.
