on cnn yesterday they announced that billions of bee's are missing.  This caused the epa to call an emergency conference with scientists to see if they can figure out what has happened to them.  The cause and effects of this is terrifying if you stop to think it all the way thru.  Bee's pollinate ALL of the fruits, vegs, grasses and tree's that the food chain depends on.  If there are no grasses to eat no beef,no chix, no rabbits etc.  I have said over and over again that the earth is trying to figure out how to get rid of the parasites(us) and I think she has figured it out.  We had similar experiences with the frogs a couple of years ago.  Are we responsible for this or did we cause the earth to do this?  I am worried and I think everyone should be too. Yeah, I think this is all part of the scheme.  Like in War of the Worlds, it's the little creatures who can defeat monster technology.
The only reason we are on top of the food chain is because of technology and weaponry.
Seriously, how is it possible that one species (out of billions) can ruin the world?  And why do we feel the need to manipulate nature?  Nature is the only thing that is perfect and the only thing that is constant.  When conducting an experiment, the placebo is always the one that is unmanipulated.
I particularily hate it when a bunch of insects or animals are brought into a place where they are not indiginous in order to rid an overpopulation of another species and then the foreigner ends up doing more damage.  Why can't humans figure out that when left alone, nature takes care of itself?
I blame a lot of the backlash on mass consumerism and the fact that we need fast, gas-guzzling cars, we need things that you "use once and then throw it away", we need to be so lazy as to buy products both big and small in order to get out of lifting a finger or walking.
We really are parasites.
