Scientology/Annonymous/Free Speech
« on: March 13, 2008, 06:44:10 AM »

Ok, out of pure boredom, I have been researching Scientology.  Just for fun.
Just some quick facts that most of you already know:
-L Ron Hubbard is a sci-fi suthor who jokingly told people he was going to start this religion since there wasn't enough money in science fiction.
-Spokespeople (mainly the celebrities) talk in circles and clearly aren't sure what they are talking about.
-they get irrationally defensive when they feel backed into a corner with nothing else to say.
-they disregard everyone else's right to free speech and only honour their own.

Google searches will bring up more reading, namely Scientology Kills.

I had been contacted at one point by a propaganda group named Annonymous.  I never thought twice about it, but they are hell bent on taking down the church of Scientology.  Not until this morning, I am uncovering more about Annonymous, mainly through Google Video and it seems really acive in the comments section within the past 10 hours.

Is something going on today?  Anyone have an insight or thoughts about this?

I have also been reading about a plethora of people who have spoken out against Scientology only to be harassed and bullied as well as having their IP addresses traced and their personal information taken (ie, unlisted phone numbers etc...)

The big protest on Feb 10th.  I particularily enjoy the Scientology surveillance vehicle (an ice cream truck?  Really?)

From Wikinews:

On Monday, the group released a video titled: "Message to Scientology" on YouTube concerning their intentions to attack the Church of Scientology. A robotic voice on the video begins with "Hello leaders of Scientology. We are Anonymous," and continues by explaining their motivations: "Over the years we have been watching you, your campaigns of misinformation, your suppression of dissent and your litigious nature. All of these things have caught our eye. With the leakage of your latest propaganda video into mainstream circulation the extent of your malign influence over those who have come to trust you as leaders has been made clear to us. Anonymous has therefore decided that your organisation should be destroyed." The message goes on to state that the group intends to "expel Scientology from the Internet

This was in January that they released the video.
Anonymous was also able to deactivate the LR Hubbard original Scientology site.  They have mad-skilled hackers.

Can you tell my interest is now peaked?  Can you?  Can you?

Not trying to be all PARANOIA! but I have been tracing some of the IP addresses (not any of our's, but the random lurking visitors)
Take a wild Willy Wonka guess where they are from!

I've been reading up on it too and it's down-right scary. I actually started an article the other day (unfinished as of yet, of course...) about Scientology stemming from  "LRH"'s fascination of black magic. Forget the Illuminati - it's Scientology I'm worried about after learning more.

Local Detroit radio show (Drew and Mike) were talking to an author about it - didn't catch the guy's name - and Anonymous started out as a joke and progressed. They originally used to pull pranks like ordering 100 pizzas to the headquarters.  Cheesy

Scientology was started as a cash-cow by a psychotic science fiction writer who idolized Aleister Crowley - the self-proclaimed Anti-Christ.

Here it goes - hit "Post" and tomorrow this site will be hacked and offline. lol

If I'm lucky they'll sue me for Cruise's usual $100 million and I'll end up famous and make billions.

I've got nothing to hide that isn't already publicly known around town anyway.

It's a shame that those so hell-bent on proving the inaccuracies of psychiatry are the ones who may need it most.
Because this?
"According to Scientology, when a person dies – or, in Scientology terms, when a thetan abandons its physical body – they go to a "landing station" on the planet Venus, where the thetan is re-implanted and told lies about its past life and its next life. The Venusians take the thetan, "capsule" it, and send it back to Earth to be dumped into the ocean off the coast of California"
is rilly, rilly logical.
Hahaha.

Also, this sounds kind of JUST like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes:

Says Hubbard, "If you can get out of that, and through that, and wander around through the cities and find some girl who looks like she is going to get married or have a baby or something like that, you're all set. And if you can find the maternity ward to a hospital or something, you're OK. And you just eventually just pick up a baby."

I usually try to say something thoughtful, but given the topic I'll ask something more appropriate. Has anyone seen the episode of South Park dealing with scientology? They captured my (limited) study of the religion "to a tee".

They get money by making wealthy people feel special. It's actually quite a clever operation in my opinion. If it had any sort of basis in reality, then that would be the time to start worrying. Fortunately, anything that someone who works hard for money has to pay for starts losing appeal 'real quick' in our society. Especially if it makes the other hard-working people laugh at them  Cheesy

Check this list:
http://www.topsocialite.com/67-celebrities-who-are-scientologists/

Good thing I don't give a crap about any one of these people... except for Jason Lee!

I am going to write another article soon.  It's just un-freaking-believable tha people don't know when to stop with following trends.  It's ridiculous!  Even in my LSD-infused impressionable years, I knew better!

Nobody's allowed to call me that again!!

I'm Doug E Style from now on!  Grin
