A couple nights ago, I read the article on OBE's and how to experience one. I tried it last night and I did the technique in the article. I think I did really well for my first try, I felt like the borders between my spiritual self and physical self were blurring, which was amazing in itself because I was pretty skeptical when I read the article. The problem is, that's as far as I got. I just needed the extra push to get out of my body, and I didn't know how to get it. I also tried the ladder climbing technique, but to the same result. If anyone could tell me how to get that extra little push to get out of my body, it would be very appreciated. If it helps, I'm a 15 year old male. Thanks.

Something that works for me is to look at a place, say a room across the hall, when in that inbetween state and then that helps me get up and go there.

Try not. Do or do not, there is no try.

Brighid and Lenura practise in the morning, while you're kind of awake but still asleep. Set your alarm to wake-up, then shut it off (no snooze!) and try as you're falling back to sleep.
I have most success after late night caffeine binges.

OK, well HJ is right, I prefer to practice in the morning, in fact that is the only time I have any success, so trying at that time may help you get "out" easier. I have heard quite a few methods, and I'm sure that everyone has there own way, so I would just suggest trying as many different ways as you can find until one works for you. I have actually used 2 different ways that worked well for me. The first was imagining myself reaching up for something that was just out of my reach, the more I reached the farther up I went. Another method I have tried is to imagine myself floating above in the sky, once I get that visualitation strong, I just "push" a little higher and higher. Yet another method I've heard of that seems like it may work is to just strongly visualize floating up out of your body, and wham there you are. I have also heard quite a few others mention lifting out using the method that Tolkus described. There are just so many ways, you just have to keep trying. One of the things that was hard for me was to NOT try and lift out physically. That was my first instinct and it almost always ripped me right back out of the feeling. maybe that is the problem you are having, are you trying to "get out" physically? I think it's awesome that you got that far on the first try! Some have to try for months to get to the point you were. However, don't get discouraged if you hit a roadblock or two now. It may take you a while to figure out which method works best for you. Just keep trying and I KNOW you'll make it! Do you have anything that you would like to do after you get "out of body"? Or are you just trying to get out first and worry about the rest later? I'm interested in what others "do", that's why I ask. Good Luck!! Hope I helped a little.

Well, it's been a few months, and I'm not quite there yet. I think I was getting it right once, but the loud crack scared me right back into myself. It was using Brighid's method of reaching for something that you can't quite get. I think I'll get it right within a few weeks. Not really sure what I'll do with it yet, just trying to prove to myself that it's real.
