Destination Truth Yeti
« on: November 05, 2009, 07:48:08 AM »

Watched Destination Truth season final last night, if you haven't seen this show it's a hoot just to hear what Josh will say next, and they were tracking down the Yeti. They found a large hair sample and took it with them, had it checked out and it came up as UNKNOWN PRIMATE!!!!!!   After watching another show about another group traking the Yeti they came up with enough evidence that the area would be able to support large primates, like moutain gorrilllas. This Yeti I believe is an unkown species of mountain gorrilla. Now that the hair has been scientificaly confermed to be unkown primate hopefully this will bring in more scientific research into the area and gorrilla experts too. Any opinions on this?   Grin

Judging on scientists in the past, I think the Yeti will need to be 100% supported by evidence to be accepted by science and even then people might not believe it. Some people in the world will be intrigued and will help reseach it thought.

Tell me about it....  Tongue   What really gets me are those who say "So why don't we ever find a body?" This tells me that the person saying this was raised and lives in a city and knows nothing about the outdoors. If a body is left out exposed for more than 5 days it will be vertually gone by then, bones and all. By 10 days you will have never known a body was laying there. Monster Quest on History channel did a very good thing, they placed a dead deer in the woods and left camera on it for two weeks to show why no one ever finds a body, at the end of the two week there was nothing there, it was eaten on and then completly decomposed. Where I live here in the south the woods arund me are full and I mean full of deer but we never find deer bodies except for pieces drug off by dogs after a hunter has cleaned it. That is why you have to be a very good tracker if you hunt because you can easily lose a full grown deer, believe it or not.

how are the bones gone, are other animals taking them, because bones don't decompose...?

my chem teacher told my class that theres a chemical in bones that prevents them from decomposing. (well she LIED! lol jk! she probably said something wrong by accident about it...lol) and i wasnt sure how many animals like to eat/play with/chew on animal bones of deceased animals. i thought that it was a domesticated animal thing more so than in the wild. didnt realize that it was that common...

Maybe in some coditions they can be preserved, but in wet or humid climents like where I live they do decompose, watched o' many a cows bones turn to dust. There are many animals in the wild that eat/chew on bones. Cyot's, wolves, wild dogs, racoons, possums, buzzards, and bears. There are most likely more but that's all that are down here.
